Liturgy of the Word for Children

Beginning the 1st Sunday of Advent (this coming Sunday) we will be inviting the youngest members of our congregation to share a special age appropriate time learning about the Sunday Scripture.

Father Nick will call the children (and interested parents) forward immediately following the opening prayer. He will bless them, hand a volunteer candle bearer an electric candle and ask another volunteer to carry the Lectionary. The children will then process over to a meeting room for a short lesson and simple craft, game or song. They will return to their pews just after the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

This is a volunteer run program and parents are encouraged to join us. We will have a weekly parent handout to use at home. We are hoping to make this a weekly option for children to participate in!
